In the profile foot of the child the same proportionate length measurement applies as in the adult, being the length of ulna bone (elbow to wrist) ; see B.
The breadth is greater in proportion than in adult foot (see A).
At birth the breadth is two and one-tenth inches ; length, three inches. In maximum growth, breadth of foot is four inches, length being ten inches.
Plumpness must be expressed by rounded curves and soft little wrinkles of flesh in the bends, as at C.
The base of the foot is rounder in the balls of the foot under heel, and large and small toes (D).
