Sketching Notes (Plate 65).
It will be generally found that children's fashions reflect the vogue of adults, but are modified to meet childish needs. The clothing must be shown in a natural manner, appearing comfortable on the figure and conforming with the same rules of draping as for the adult.
Boys' clothing fastens over from left to right, girls' from right to left.
The diagram of a child is shown with the draping outline of the clothes, the distance between depending on the thickness of material. Toys are frequently introduced into the sketch as an added interest, but must not interfere with the details of the garment.
